Hello,

I was hoping that someone could answer this question.

I have some entries in my Contacts and that I would like to keep or log as private.  Meaning, if someone were to get a hold of my phone and go through names and phone numbers in my contact list, they would NOT be able to see these entries without having to enter some kind of code/password first or do something special, i.e. push certain buttons in a certain order.

Can someone tell me if this is possible within having to purchase a third-party software?!?!?

If not, then what software is recommended?!?!?

Thanks in advance

I don't know of any phone that can do this. You could save it in a .txt or .doc and hide it somewhere on the phone

Thanks for the reply...

Now, a few years ago, I was using an IPAQ 4700 PDA and I remember that when I entered a new contact, I could mark it "private".  But for the life of me, I do not remember how or the procedure to being able to view that entry!

I'm hoping someone would know....thats if you are incorrect about it not being possible.

Thanks again for thre reply.

If you sync your contacts with MS/Outlook, there's a setting in each contact for PRIVATE.
I'm not sure how this would translate over to the TP ... imagine, you might be able to sync only the (non)private contacts ... but never heard of any filtering once on the phone

You might also be able to do something with Categories ... setup a category for your public contacts, then just filter on them ... there's no password involved, but it might be sufficient

frittob,

So by doing that, if a person knew what to do and went to Category Filter then select "no filter", then it would not be "hidden" , right?!?!?

That is what would happen, correct.

Why don't you set the phone to lock after 15 minutes or something if it that important?

Not sure, but this looks good for $17.00
