OK, Lets face it, Weather is not that important to me. I can either look outside or walk out. But this is bugging the he** out of me! Sometimes it updates, sometimes it dont?

Lets start with the weather tab. If I go to that screen, in the upper right you see "Last Updated: 15:00"
First off, (and I will just make something up here for example) its now 18:00 and my weather is set to update every  hour! Second off, If I tap "Update Now" there is a little circle next to Last Updated to let you know its trying to update. That usually spins for several seconds and I get updated time. Sometimes now it spins for like 10 seconds and goes back to "Last Updated: 15:00"?

Another thing, (again) at 2:30AM (yea, I was up) it was Bright and Sunny, 63 degrees, in Teaneck, NJ? I was 10 miles away in Ft. Lee?

I think the real reason it buggs me, you know I play with my phone ALOT!! I also do not wear a watch for time. When Im on the Home Screen, it will show "Bright and Sunny" when I know for a fact the sun is not out!

I played with iPhone and Nokia and neither of them had a problem!

BTW: Right now its 53 degrees and raining in Ft Lee. Im 15 miles away in Fair Lawn and the sun is out!

I think I figured THIS thing out! It's AT&T and not my Fuze!!! I was at Hooters last night (I know, AGAIN!) and I noticed my phone worked perfect. At home, I experienced the issue above again? At Work today, same issue. Lunch near Hooters, back to normal?

It must be the AT&T towers in those two areas? What I don't understand is:

1. Weather does work in those 2 areas, just not all the time.
2. Stocks always work, so it's not a network issue.

This is starting to get under my skin. Let's face it, weather is NOT that important to me. I can walk outside and get it or turn on the news or go to internet. But it's a function of the phone so it should work!

It bugs me more at work. (Its currently working) When it's not working, I immediately check stocks and they are always fine. I walk 10' to coworker with iPhone, he gets his weather within seconds and obviously he is with AT&T? So our weather comes from the same place.

I will not ditch my phone for this, but very odd.

Aha David!  Next time your weather update puts your location 10 miles or more away from where you actually are, open google maps and check your location there.  I guarantee that will show the same (wrong) location as the weather.

I think that something interfers with the GPS from time to time.  I am not sure what.  Clouds? Electrical activity?  Weak signal?  Thick stone walls?  Who knows?

Sometimes I'll be at the same spot in my house and  google maps and weather will give my location at least 15 miles south of where I am, while other times it will be right on - exactly where I truly am.

Greg laughs at me because I am frequently updating the weather.  He says what you said, "You can look out the window to see if the sun is shining!"
I just like watching the animations.

If you try to update the weather and that little circle just spins and spins and doesn't update, move your position a bit and keep trying.  You have to have a really good signal to update the weather.

PS.  At home, I often place the Fuze right next to the wireless router to get an update.  I don't get any AT&T signal at home, so there I am limited to WiFi.

Funny you mention this, I ran some test last week. If I am at work standing outside, Google Maps shows me EXACTLY where im standing in relation to this building. EXACTLY the spot. If I am inside of Hooters and do the same thing, Im within 100 yds of resturant.

With weather, it WAS a crap shoot. sometimes it would update, other it would not. I also believe it may be a tower issue. For example, weather at Hooters. Sometimes I get Hackensack (where it actually is), sometimes I get Teaneck (about 100Yds away techincally), sometimes I get Riverside (100 Yds across the street!). Same way with work.

But as you stated, it may have something to do with signal strength? What really confused me, when weather did not work, stocks worked perfectly. not only that, when weather did not work, iPhone user standing next to me got weather? When I first flashed (1/20) I did not have this issue, it only happen a little over a month ago.

Anyway, I have "Cookie Tab" now and all is good!

I had this issue with every Energy rom I've used (3 so far), although this latest one seems to be the worst for not updating.  It could just be the weather itself affecting signal and not the rom.  I don't have as much trouble updating when I am downtown.  It is worse out in the "boomies" where we live.

Do you have it set to auto update and the timing of it? I have no problems at all with mine an we are running the same ROM

I have it set to auto update once every 12 hours.  If I don't turn the Fuze off at night, it updates while I am sleeping.  But if I try to manually update it, I run into that spinning problem occassionally and a message will say, "Weather cannot be update."  I really think it is a connection issue since I don't have that problem when I am in town.
