When there is an incoming call from a phone number in my address book, I want the phone to annouce the NAME of the caller (i.e., the name associated with that phone number in my address book) through my bluetooth headset.  I understand this is a standard feature of Microsoft Voice Command.  But I need absolute confirmation that this feature works on the HTC Fuze with the bundled version of Microsoft Voice Command.  Can someone try it out and respond?

I was going to start a new thread BUT, if you look, it was April when I posted here as I thought this would be a really cool function/tool.

I did Energy ROM upgrade on July 15th. I got a call on my way home when my Phone talked to me "Call From Margie Palmer Mobile". Cool. The next day in the office my mother called about 10:00AM, "Call from Dorothy Sims Home".  The entire office thought it was cool and so did I!

Then I started thinking, I have 707 contacts in my list and cannot go thru them all BUT, I know for a fact I have 3 numbers from Hooters, I do not know their last name so I put in Hooters? I know for a fact of 2 drug dealers I grew up with. "David "Cociane" Anderson" and "Wayne "Weed" Lytes" would not have the same "coolness" as my mother calling. I doubt any of these people would call me (Hooters girls maybe, but the others I have not seen since the 80's) but that is something I do not wanted mentioned during a meeting or on speaker while phone is at my desk and Im getting coffee!!

ROFL! I hear you there. That would definitely make you re-think your contact list...

I mean, if you have "John "The Jerk" Smith" in there, and he happened to call when his friend was standing there, that would be awkward... Tongue

I thought this feature to be cool, but turned it off, I just want it to talk to me about my appointments. Smiley

I sent you an e-mail. per that e-mail, until I get my contacts in order I have turned off this function!! (or maybe silent at work and turn it on on weekends?) But as of this time, its off!

I have since cleaned that up, we grew up as kids and took different paths after high school. I still see them now and then when I visit my aunt but we have not spoken face to face in years. Sending you e-mail about this as I have another opinion on this!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they still in that "business". It's just to see the reaction if that calls comes in, in a meeting. I would be one that for the hell of it would tell you to place an "order" Cheesy

You should post the name you sent me on e-mail, that would be another one that I would pay to people reactions with that call.

And the 2 dummies I speak of ARE still in the business! Wayne is dumb as ............My aunt lives in West Philly. Wayne is down the street on the pourch and Im talking to my cousin and aunt. Not a white guy within a 2 miles of my aunts neighborhood. Raggy car eases down the block, stops in the middle of the block to get "Served." Crown Vic pulls up behind car with 4-white guys with neckties. Dumb *** came off his pourch and reached into the window of that raggy car?Huh 45 years old and that stupid!!!

Thats why I mentioned, I see them but have no reason to speak to them!

One thing I really do like with VC on EnergyROM I noticed. While driving it will announce caller thru Bluetooth! I no longer have to take my eyes off the road and look at picture!
