Hi Fellow HTC Touch Pro Users!

This is my first post in any forum, ever!  So please bear with me...

My Fuze is pretty scratched up from usage and time.  I am thinking of replacing the entire housing (maybe the keyboard too) just to give it a facelift.  What I've researched so far is a set of Fuze Housing from eBay that costs around $70 shipped.  And that is w/o a keyboard!  I think it's pretty expensive for a set of pulled-out plastics from another phone (according to the seller).  Here's the link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/OEM-HTC-FUZE-GSM-AT-T-HOUSING-LCD-Touch-Screen-Door-/220452263500?pt=PDA_Accessories#ht_6529wt_932

One of my questions is that can I take all the internal components from my Fuze and transfer them into the HTC Touch Pro (non-branded or Sprint-branded) housing?  This option would cost half as much compared to the actual Fuze housing.

The other question is does anyone know how the architecture of the screw holes differs between the two sets of housing?  I'm just afraid that if I bought the HTC Touch Pro Housing, then the screws and/or circuit board + wiring would not line up or reside properly inside.

But I am much open to other options to give my phone a cosmetic jolt.  Thank you so much!

KDP

I have never done this, but I will take a stab in the dark. I would not do this. We had one member that did, but he put a Fuze with a Fuze. Here is why I think this is a bad idea.

I work in IT. I have an IBM ThinkPad Lenovo T61. One of my co-workers in the UK has a T61R. The difference is, he has and MicroSDHC card reader in the upper front. I have a 1394 Firewire. Long story short (who the he** uses Firewire?) and we have tons of cases here? Well, my master plan did not work for obvious reasons.

Same with you, I do not know, for instance, if the connector for the screen from the TP is the same as the Fuze and so forth.

Now with that said. I'm anal about my phones. Always have been. BUT, like my computer, laptop, and the various other crap I have laying around, SOME where and tear is to be expected? I would never let my toys get to the point that they were unbearable to look at.............................

Lets face it, you have an expensive mobilePC in your hands. You get what you pay for. JMO

Also, the touch pro has a camera in the front and it might be slightly different for the fuze.
