I am so done with i.e.!  Anybody else having troubles.  Ever since the latest upgrade, it keeps shutting down and I get messages telling me that it has to close.  Sometimes, I can just close the messages and continue as if nothing happened but other times.  i.e. will close and restart.   Doesn't matter which computer I am using.  It happens on them all.

I started using Firefox instead and guess what I noticed.  Every time I misspell a word here when I post in the forum, it gets underlined in red!!!!  Wow!  Awesome!  I need that with my poor spelling - attributed to the fact that in my Catholic School days, the girls had to untangle skeins of wool while the boys had spelling class.  No lie.

Now, you'll always know if I used i.e. or ff to post by my spelling.  Do you care?  Probably not.

My kids like Google Chrome.  But as David once said regarding something else, "I am not feeling it."

What do you all prefer?

I have never experienced the issues you have with IE and no one in my department has either.

Many, Many, Many, Many years ago I had Netscape. (something I liked about it, cant  remember now) but I moved to IE and never looked back.

Funny story (and maybe a bad description). My Grandfather HATED white women. He would say stuff when I was like 10 years old where I would laugh so hard Id almost wet my pants. White men were cool as he worked in the steel mill with them. He never said anything in public, but in the house he was a hoot. I never understood why he hated them. When he got into his late 80's and 90's before he died, he just did not give a da** and say whatever, whenever, to who ever. Old man went to his grave with this.

I guess, in away, Im like my Grandfather. I have Chrome and Firefox, but refuse to use it, just because. I will take IE to my grave! Matter fact, each time I flash, one of the first things I do is make IE my default browser as to not deal with Opera!

Speaking of Netscape, what ever happen to good ole cc:mail? Todays choices work with lots more options, but cc:mail was simple, easy to use, and accessable ANYWHERE!

I had Netscape navigator too years ago too but Internet Explorer was always my default browser.

I wonder what is going on with I.E. and me now. Like I said, the trouble is on every computer at home and at the office ever since I upgrade to the latest version.  I.E. is still my default everywhere but I have been using Firefox more and more.

I understand completely what you mean about your grandfather.  I get that way too.  I have a certain thing that I like or am used to and I just don't want to try anything new.

Thinking about this and my issue with my fuze (AT&T Service In/Out), You may have an application your using that is causing this.

I was just talking to a guy where he would logon to something in IE. Then open another IE and logon to something else. That would log him off whaterve he was doing in first session. Turns out, a setting in McFee Security!

What do all your computers have in common? Go back to the Old Version if that was working for you?

Yes!  It happens when I have more than one "tab" open and I close one of them.   I use Avast not McAfee but maybe it is a security issue.

Now you understand why I and another member absoutly HATE Apple (wont mention his name or screen name in the same breath. Might tracck me down and kill me!) They basically do the same thing all the time! Change or alter programs and settings that have NOTHING to do with them!

I just opened "Internet properties" and checked the security settings on the office computer (because I am at the office).  There is a check mark in a box that says, "Enable Protect Mode (requires restarting Internet Explorer)"

Hmmm...  I wonder if this is it.  If I just take the check out of the box could my troubles be over?

I am going to try it.  I'll see what the settings are on our other computers.  If this does the trick on one or two, I'll uncheck the box on them all.

David, you and your coworker may have solved my problem!
